Blues at Ten has existed in one form or another since David, Mike and Sandy, together with another old friend Mel Cotgrave, decided to 'have some fun playing the blues' back in the late 80's.

In this incarnation the band (or 'BAT' as we nick-name it!) played local gigs around the West Midlands for several years.

In 1999 Mel decided to hang up his Strat for good and was replaced by Mike Bartleet, another guitar player from Birmingham, although the band didnt actually gig with this line-up.

There was then a bit of a lull until 2003 while David and Mike concentrated on other projects, including some very successful tribute shows like, 69, The Bryan Adams Tribute Show and Who's That Girl?

In 2002 David had put together a soul band called Transmission Red which included Emma Hinchliffe on Lead Vocals, Marie on Sax, Billy on Keyboards, and of course Mike and Sandy on Guitar and Drums. This band did a couple of gigs at David's local Worcester venue, The Marr's Bar, but folded in early 2003 when Emma moved to Manchester for her work

It was then that David decided to re-launch Blues at Ten with Mike and Sandy and asked Billy and Marie if they would like to be in the line-up. The rest as they say is history! The new Blues at Ten did its first gig at a private party in June 2003 and has never looked back.

This a fantastic club run by Mike "Tubby Blues". He created Tubby Blues Club to raise money for the renal unit of the Royal Gloucestershire Hospital, where Tubby himself was a patient. His love of blues music and his desire to help others has inspired him to set up the Tubby Blues Club with the aim to buy new equipment for the renal unit. It's always a great party night so get your tickets early...this always sells out!
